Summary:
Ms. Marvel: No Normal is about a Muslim Pakistani American girl, Kamal. Kamala struggles with identity issues and develops superpowers that allow her to change her shape, size, and form. Kamala struggles to fit into her community and her powers let her escape the pressures around her. Her powers also get her into trouble battling with "The Inventor." The novel follows Kamala as she tries to fit in, master her powers, and fight bad guys.

Target Audience: 
The target audience for this novel is children ages 11-17. Children who like to read graphic novels or who struggle with identity issues will most likely enjoy this novel. 

Evaluation:
I really enjoyed Ms. Marvel: No Normal. This novel does a very good job dealing with diversity. The main character is a female who is Muslim Pakistani American. She faces many problems when it comes to fitting in while sticking to her family background. The problems she faces are realistic and many children face similar issues in the real-world. 

Reader Response Activity:
Have students explore the important themes of Ms. Marvel: No Normal by identifying symbolism from the pictures and relating it back to the themes.
