Summary:
This book helps children understand that their words affect others. It guides them to uses nice, helpful words instead of hurtful words. The book also explains how it is important to apologize if hurtful words slip out. 

Target Audience: 
The target audience is children ages four to seven who are beginning to understand the power of their words. 

Evaluation:
This is a great book for parents and caregivers to read with children. The book teaches children valuable information about how words affect people. The very colorful illustrations help show the diverse children in the book.  

Reader Response Activity:
Children can make a chart of helpful words and hurtful words. This will allow children to recall some of words from the story. Children can look back at their chart before they say something to make sure they are using helpful words and not hurtful words.
